Autumn 2013
with Patricia Bachmann
The task was to design an outdoor space where people would come together to celebrate, eat, and socialize.
The design is based on the reference objects, that were handed out at the beginning of the project. The proposal consists of a concrete roof structure , which is supported by leaning concrete columns, that originate from the center axis of the structure. Along this center axis the space underneath the roof is divided in to two parts with a concrete block that acts both as visual separator and foundation.
The roof it self is out of reinforced concrete. It defines more distinct eating spaces through its folded form. The form also helps with the stiffening of the structure and allows a thinner roof structure. Furnishings rise up from the landscape to underline the relationship between this mushroom like structure and nature.
